Staples reached out to Smile Promotions looking for an NCAA-licensed partner to help produce a co-branded varsity jacket for Coca-Cola and NCAA March Madness.

Because the project involved NCAA trademarks, our team guided the process through licensing, artwork approvals, and NCAA brand compliance while helping bring the concept to life.

Multiple decoration method were used on the jacket to achieve the final look: white twill laser appliqué with embroidery for both the varsity “C” patch and the full-back Coca-Cola logo, paired with direct-to-film decoration for the sleeve artwork.

Using appliqué gave the jacket a more dimensional, premium feel, adding texture and structure that matched the classic letterman style better than a flat print alone.

The result was a licensed, brand-compliant apparel piece that combined traditional varsity details with bold Coca-Cola and NCAA March Madness branding.
